A group of nine pupils from the technical college Bulme Graz came second in the Central European Final of the “FIRST LEGO League”, a sensational result that allowed them, together with their teacher, to head to the world final in St. Louis, Missouri, at the end of April, where they were once again able to prove their mettle as one of more than 100 teams taking part in this competition.
The FIRST® LEGO® League is a worldwide educative program for school pupils. Participating teams construct and program a robot made out of Lego, which has two minutes’ time to master a range of difficult challenges. Points are awarded in the categories robot design, teamwork, research, and robot game. The overarching theme for the competition this year was the relationship between humans and animals. Although the pupils’ research project on “service dogs for diabetics” received highly positive feedback, they narrowly missed out on a place on the podium.
Christof Industries would like to congratulate the participating pupils on their great effort and looks forward to more innovative research projects in the future!
